Spiire’s Civil Engineering and Water Engineering teams were engaged by Satterley Property Group to provide detailed design for a 1500m reconstruction of Officer South Road. This reconstructed road will form a main thoroughfare through the Arcadia Estate development and is a Council and VicRoads requisite for the Estate.
Currently an existing road reserve which runs through the centre of the greenfield development, the road has been designed as a major dual carriage way arterial with the inclusion of two signalised intersections. Located in a large drainage catchment area, our Water Engineering team’s design includes culverts that cross over Officer South Road. Our team have also designed 300 meters of drainage which, in parts, measures up to a substantial 2.4 meters in diameter.
Our team have been busy as the lead consultant on the project which has involved significant coordination of services including the relocation of Telstra NBN, relocation of gas main and watermains 300mm in diameter. Working closely with the electrical consultants, our team have also coordinated the relocation of all underground and overhead electrical infrastructure along the existing road reserve.
Our Civil and Water teams’ detailed designs were submitted to Council and Vic Roads in May 2020. Once approved and construction is complete, this road will enable access to the Monash Freeway and provide residents of Arcadia Estate easy access to commute to the city.
