The West Wyndham recycled water project was commissioned by City West Water to supply homes and open spaces in the Wyndham area with recycled water as part of City West Water’s commitment to increase the use of recycled water in the west. The recycled water is delivered to West Werribee from Melbourne Water’s Western Treatment Plant, where it is further processed for residential third pipe reuse.
The capacity of the plant is 9 ML/day and consists of Ultrafiltration membranes, Reverse Osmosis, Chlorination and re-stabilisation. Treated Water is then pumped to Ballan Road Storage tank for
The plant houses 12 different chemicals and has the flexibility to manage fouling through a number of regimes.
Spiire was commissioned by City West Water to lead and conduct the commissioning of the plant in a timely fashion to ensure reliable and safe operation. Spiire’s staff led a team of 12 people, comprising City West Water staff, Principal Contractor staff and other contractor staff, to deliver a reliably operating plant safely.
Spiire’s staff managed the commissioning effort starting from precommissioning activities, dry testing, control sequence testing, wet commissioning, chemical delivery, process commissioning and finally the Proof of Performance Testing
