Why Join Our Canberra Team?

We’re searching for new team members, including a Registered or Licenced Surveyor, to join our thriving Canberra office as it continues its rapid growth.

Since launching in 2018, Spiire Canberra has carved out a strong pipeline of work and built a passionate local team of civil engineering, landscape architecture, surveying and construction consultancy services.

It’s one of ten offices in the Spiire network, which spans Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, NSW and the ACT. With more than 350 staff working across eight integrated disciplines, we are one of the region’s largest employee-owned property and infrastructure consultants and offer exceptional opportunities for career progression.

Our Projects

We work together as a multidisciplinary team that delivers exceptional holistic solutions for a broad range of projects across the ACT and regional NSW. Our consultants contribute across the life cycle of a development, from the initial planning stage through to construction consultancy.

The team has the opportunity to work on high-profile projects such as the Edinburgh Avenue Extension in the heart of Canberra Civic, and the establishment of Queanbeyan’s new Botanic Gardens.

Our Culture

We believe our culture is our difference. We recognise and reward the contributions of our people and provide real pathways for career progression.

Canberra Business Manager, Jonathon Boyd was part of the original team that launched the Canberra office, joining the business after a diverse career spanning construction, landscape design and engineering consulting.

“Spiire’s values just aligned with what I’d been looking for over many years,” he says. “It was refreshing to see the trust that was there from day one.”

From the start, Jonathon found the support from the wider Spiire business allowed him to focus on his clients and delivering local projects.

“The roadblocks are just not there, so you can run with what makes you enjoy your job,” he says.

Associate surveyor, Hannah Pearce, has worked extensively within the ACT region over the last eight years, and as a Registered Surveyor for over three years. Hannah and three of her long-time colleagues joined the Canberra team earlier this year as the local office expanded it’s multidisciplinary service offering to include surveying.

“Our new colleagues and management really went above and beyond to smooth the transition and help us integrate into the team” says Hannah.

“It’s really great to know that we have that support from the wider surveying team across Spiire, with skill sets covering every conceivable surveying task which we can consult or call on when needed. We’ve got the opportunity to learn technologies which we haven’t had access to in the past, from surveyors who actually know what they’re doing with them.” She says.

“At the same time I’m supported to focus on my primary interest, which is cadastral surveying, with the full freedom to complete jobs to the necessary standard. Spiire’s focus on quality assurance means there’s never any pressure to cut corners and in our busy industry I find that highly reassuring.”

Working on some of Canberra’s largest property and infrastructure projects including Woodbury Estate, South Jerrabomberra, Jacka and Macnamara, Hannah appreciates the benefits and efficiencies of working as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team.

“It’s great to work alongside the engineers who design the subdivisions, and conversely who make use of the survey data we collect. It saves a lot of time, and by better understanding how each of our professions work, I think we can really improve the efficiency of our own” she says.

“It’s also super satisfying to be able to spread knowledge of ‘what surveyors actually do and how we do it’ that little bit further throughout related professions, as I think most surveyors will agree our work is generally under-represented in the broader community. Working together on projects with other professions is a great way to start improving that situation”.
