Kickstart your career

At Spiire, we believe in creating real opportunities to support our people’s ongoing professional development. We invest in initiatives that are tailored to help our people reach their learning and development goals.

This begins with our Graduate Program.

We understand that all of our graduates are unique. Our Graduate Program exposes you to a range of experiences and opportunities to help you realise your strengths, talents and passions and unlock your unique value.

The success of these learning opportunities is grounded in our knowledge-sharing culture.

Our two-year Graduate Program is designed to help you grow, connect, and thrive in a supportive and dynamic environment.

This will involve:

  • Building your network across different offices and disciplines and elevating your cross-discipline awareness through our truly integrated offering.
  • Gaining a strong understanding of our business, all while working on real projects that shape communities.
  • Learning from experienced consultants, leaders, and external experts who are invested in your success.

Plus, you’ll be part of a collaborative graduate community, forming connections across different offices and disciplines.

How you'll learn

Professional Skills

Spiire’s professional skill development is centred around becoming a well-rounded, professional consultant. We bring together our graduate cohort for in-person module days and run virtual sessions. These interactive workshops are a chance to learn from subject matter experts from both within and outside of Spiire.

Technical Competencies

Each discipline, also known as Practice Area, has a tailored technical competency plan to help graduates acquire, through practical experience, a range of skills and knowledge to underpin successful careers. Graduates work through these competencies progressively and are supported to gain exposure to a diverse range of tasks and projects.

Business Competencies

Your successful completion of the Graduate Program and your overall professional development at Spiire extends beyond technical and professional competencies. Your development and success also depends on you having a sound understanding of our business and the way we operate. This is cultivated through a variety of opportunities which could include secondments, involvement in business initiatives and participation in industry events and off-sites.

What you'll gain

We asked a consultant who has completed the program, Martina Mohenska, to share her reflections on what she learned as a Spiire graduate.

Martina has continued to progress within the Melbourne Landscape Architecture team since joining Spiire as a Graduate in 2017.

The diverse opportunities for networking, connection and exposure to the industry made the program invaluable to developing her career, she says.

By having an open mind, she dove into a range of learning experiences that helped her build the foundations for a rewarding career at Spiire.

“I never expected to encounter so many valuable opportunities,” she says.

Ali Khurshid, another Spiire Graduate Program alum, joined the Civil Engineering team in Albury back in October 2020.

Ali found his regional base did not restrict his access to the entire Spiire network, and he was encouraged to utilise the range of expertise at his disposal.

The opportunity to build relationships with senior leaders fast-tracked Ali’s professional development.

“I’ve genuinely experienced the ‘one team’ approach at Spiire,” he says. “Especially in the regions, I feel like you get a lot of trust in you, and if you develop good relationships, people want to mentor you and give you opportunities to grow.”
