Alex has been with Spiire since 2004 and is one of our most innovative landscape architects. With over 20 years’ experience in the private and public sectors, in both Melbourne and Amsterdam, Alex provides clients with creative solutions to complex problems.

Alex has a deep interest in the connection of people, place and water, which can be seen in her work in Integrated Water Management and Water Sensitive Urban Design on many of our projects. This interest has established her strong relationships across Victoria with key water authorities and affiliated clients. She is particularly passionate about working with our traditional owners, a pursuit which is being fostered through her appointment on the inaugural Birrarung Council operating under the Yarra River Protect Act 2017.

In 2008, Alex received the AILA ‘President’s Award for WSUD’, the ‘Design in Landscape Architecture’ Award and the SIAV Award ‘Commendation for Surface Groundwater Management’ for Stage 1 of the Victorian College of the Arts Project.

Alex has a strong passion for the Australian native landscape and has worked on a diverse range of projects that integrate this passion with her skill sets in sustainability and water management. She believes that a connection to green space in our daily lives sits at the heart of every healthy community. Alex’s experience in this space is one of our team’s key assets.
