With ageing assets, increasing population and changing raw water quality, Albury City Council were investigating options to build a new Albury Water Filtration Plant to address current challenges.
The upgrade involves the building of a new water treatment plant with a 90ML/d capacity. The new water filtration plant would share some of the existing assets of the old plant including the raw water pump station. The new plant was to be built in nearby location so that the existing plant can keep running until the new plant is built.
Spiire’s Water Engineering team were commissioned by Albury City Council to undertake a master plan for the site. Council wanted the plant to be able to be staged over four stages of construction with every stage being able to be added without interruption of the operation of the plant.
